So we’re not doing the tariffs just yet; there is now a 90 day pause on the tariffs for all countries except China.
Here is some interpretation from Intrigue. Their take is that it’s a complicated tradeoff between bond markets and de-intertwining economies, although I’m not super convinced that this outcome was exactly planned or expected. It does seem that somehow a real disaster was barely avoided, but I’m not at all sure how that was achieved. The current situatoin is not great, although some people were informed ahead of time and made a quick buck.
